According to USA Swimming as well as Fairland Aquatics Center Policy, parents who are not "Swim Coach Certified", are not permitted on the pool deck under any circumstances. Therefore, effective immediately, parents must remain in the bleachers/spectator viewing area or may assist their swimmer in the locker rooms but not on the pool deck. If you wish to speak to any of the coaches, we will be available after practice in the main lobby.
Additionally, swimmers intending to use the recreation pool or main pool outside of their respective practice times, must pay an entrance fee at the front desk, similar to the general public. The registration fee/program fee for Suburban Aquatics does not cover your swimmer outside of their practices. Parents must also pay an entrance fee to utilize the facility.
When your swimmer is committed to a swim meet, they are required to be available for the entirety of the session. If you swimmer is committed to a meet but can no longer participate due to another conflict, illness, etc., parents must notify me at least 1 week in advance from the first day of the meet. This allows me to scratch the swimmer from the meet, at no cost to the team.
When registration is opened for a meet, there is a "Meet Announcement" pdf which is attached to the meet page (see attached). Please carefully read the Meet Announcement. The Meet Announcement contains details like the session warmup/start times, awards, entry fee costs, and more.
When registering your swimmer for a multi-day meet, please include the days they are available in the "notes" section. Also, when selecting their events, keep in mind it is not guaranteed for them to swim those specific events. Just because a swimmer is "nervous" for a particular event, does not mean they are "not ready" for an event. The coaches only select events that your swimmer is ready for.
